Kirk Medas’ health battle has come to a tragic end.
The Floribama Shore star died May 2 after being hospitalized due to a severe illness, his family confirmed to TMZ May 2. He was 33.
Following his passing, his costar Aimee Hall paid tribute to her late friend in a post on social media.
“We lost our brother, our best friend, our heart—Kirk,” she wrote in a post on Facebook, per Deadline. “I was at the beach when I felt it. Before the call even came, a dolphin kept coming up to me, as if to say goodbye. Kirk and I shared a love for dolphins and the ocean, and in that moment, I just knew.”
While Hall said her “heart is shattered” by the loss, she noted that she found “peace in knowing he’s no longer in pain.”
“He’s in heaven now—free, whole and making everyone laugh the way only he could,” she went on. “Kirk had the kindest soul, a heart full of love for everyone he met and a spirit that brought people together. He truly was the glue that held us all close.”
Medas gained recognition in 2017 as a main cast member on the MTV reality series, which was a spinoff of the original Jersey Shore. He appeared on the show throughout its four-season run.
Prior to Medas’s passing, his loved ones launched a GoFundMe page stating he was “in the ICU fighting necrotizing pancreatitis,” a severe inflammation of the pancreas that can cause short-term and long-term complications, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Amid Medas’s hospitalization, his fellow Floribama Shore alum Nilsa Prowant urged her followers to support the fundraiser, with proceeds going towards his family’s medical expenses.
“We haven’t really posted about it online because it wasn’t something we wanted to share until we got the approval of his parents,” Prowant said in a video posted on TikTok May 1. “One of the toughest things I’ve had to go through is seeing someone who’s like my brother fighting like he is.”
Indeed, the reality star went on to call her visit with Medas “one of the hardest things I’ve ever seen in my life” as she described their tight bond.
“You guys know how close me and Kirk are,” she continued. “He’s been there for me for the past 8 years of my life.”
